Types of Lenticular lens |
| |
There are many types of lenticular lens.
Define by viewing effects, there are 2 types of the lenticualr lens that is vertical and horizontal lens. Vertical lens should be viewed from left to right, while horizontal
lens be viewed from top to bottom. Different LPI and thickness provides various levels of viewing fineness. |

Select the viewing direction
| |
Generally, the quality of illusion would be better using horizontal lens compare than vertical lens. Because both our eyes lie on one same horizontal plane when viewing up & down (horizontal lens), the image we see in better synchronization and harmony.
| |
To select the viewing direction, we often consider the environment of particular use, e.g. In the case of poster or POP display, the passerby only comes from left & right instead of above & bottom, so that left & right would be a better choice for this case. For some handy products such as lenticular calendar cards, business cards or postcards, the viewer can flip the product easily, so that there is no limitation when selecting the viewing direction in such case. |

Combination of lenticular viewing effects
| |
It is possible to combine more than one lenticular printing effect on the same product. Note both vertical and horizontal lens can be used for Motion / Flip / Morph / Zoom effects combination with optimum result.
| |
However, 3D effect needs the use horizontal lens, it may not produce the best result when combine with the other effects. In general, multi-effects combination complicates the final picture rather than enriching it, so it is not our recommendation to use multi-effects. If effects combination is necessary, a rather long sample production lead-time should be expected. |

Tips when making artwork |
| |
a) Small size font is hard to read under lenticular lens, therefore we suggest using 10 pts or above fonts size for better result.
b) Keep the text in fonts format, DO NOT flatten or convert them into outlines. Simply store them apart in another folder so it could possibly be adjusted later.
c) For the best 3D lenticular effects, DO NOT use a plain background (in the sense of color and graphic), such as monotone or simple texture, as it will diminish the sense of depth. The viewers may be less able to differentiate the gradation as a result. |
